  1. The Pan African Film Festival sounds like a lot of fun. It’s been a great year for African film already. Kinyarwanda screened at Sundance, an Algerian film is up for the Best Foreign Language Film, and the South African film White Wedding finally came out on dvd. I’ve been wanting to see White Wedding ever since South Africa submitted it to the Oscars a year ago. It looks like the rare film that manages to be incredibly uplifting while still approaching very real and difficult issues, like the racial tensions that are still a problem in South Africa. You can check out the trailer at the film’s site here: http://whiteweddingmovie.com/
